Petey and Minnie 7

Petey's POV


SHAWN= "Petey, I need your car."
PETEY= "What?  You disappear for ten minutes and..."
SHAWN= "I know, I know.  Denise's best friend needs to move out, and you have a bigger car than me."  I paused the game we were playing, cause this is going to be a while.
PETEY= "If this person needs to move, than rent a truck."
SHAWN= "It's not like that.  She's moving out of her boyfriend's apartment.  He cheated on her and she has cancer an..."
PETEY= "FINE!  I'll pick you up and just tell me where to go."

PETEY= "So, what does she look like?"
SHAWN= "I'll know when I see her."
PETEY= "I swear to God, Shawn, if she's anything like Den..."
SHAWN= "Park the car, I think I see her."  Once I pull over, Shawn runs out and towards a small, bald woman crying underneath a tree.  She looked so delicate.  They talked for a while before he helped her up.  Her hands were covering her face as they got closer.
SHAWN= "I hope it's alright if Minnie takes the front set so she can show you where she lives."  Minnie?  Could it be her?  How many Minnies are there in the world?

Then, she got it.  She was right across from me, like that day at the movies.  Her brown eyes were red and puffy from crying, all her blue hair was gone, and her skin looked dry from cancer treatment.  But even with all that I could still tell it was her.  Minnie.  My Minnie.  What kind of man would do this to her?  What do I say?

MINNIE= *sniff* "Thank you so much for thi...Petey?  Are you Petey?"  She remembers me?
PETEY= "Only if you're Minnie."  At that moment, she climbs over and hugs me.  Usually, I hate being touched with an undying passion, but, she is some how different.  It felt...right.
