Virginia

I'm weird.  There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.  I'm weird.  My name is Virginia White, and, for the first eight years of my life, I lived in Greeley, Colorado with my mother. I never met my father(he ran off before I was born), but, from what everyone says about him, he was about fifty years older than my mother, and he never stayed in one place for too long(probably one of the reasons he left).

I never really minded that my dad wasn't in the picture, cause my mom took good enough care of me.  That is, she took care for the first few years. Then, she started to develop some serious mental issues, and started keeping me locked away in a closet. When I missed three days of school, teachers got worried, and cops were sent over to my place. When my mom saw the police cars, she panicked, and tried to set the house on fire, with the both of us still inside. Luckily, the fire didn't spread beyond one room, and the cops were able to get the two of us out, safely.

So, after my mom was sent to an institution(where she would later kill herself), the police tried to find any family members that could take me in. My mom didn't have any close family members, and they couldn't find my dad, but, they found out that I wasn't the only child my dad had. I had an older brother, Calvin, living in Denver. But, the thing about Calvin was, he was about 35, married, with a daughter around the same age as me.

Calvin talked with his family, and decided to take me in.  The only real issue there was was rooming. They lived in a three family home, and all the rooms were taken. Wanting me and my niece, Dakota, to have separate rooms, they set up a room for me in the basement. It was dark, and the communal washer and dryer, so I had people coming in and out, but, it was a good place to stay. The basement was large, and I had a big bed, TV, and a laptop in it, so, that was good.

As I grew up and went to a new school, I quickly realized that what had happened to me had followed over to the new town. Everyone seemed to know (almost)everything about me. I was picked on mercilessly. The situation wasn't improved much by the way I looked or would act. I was really short(4'11 at fifteen), pasty pale skin, and always in my head, focusing on my mind. So, the girl with the strange family situation who didn't talk or socialize much became an easy target for bullies.

Today was no different.  I was in the high school bathroom, trying to get the wet flour out of my hair. Someone put a flour bomb in my locker, that went off in my face, in front of everyone. I could still hear everyone laughing outside. You'd think I'd be used to it by now. Hell, the bathroom I'm in had 'Vi(r)gin(i)a White Eats Shit' written on the walls. I was just about to lose it, when Dakota walked into the bathroom. She was a lot taller than me(5'6), with extremely short, black hair and blue eyes. She plays a lot of soccer, so, she's pretty athletic, but, she also had larger breasts, which she said got in the way.

DAKOTA= "Jesus Christ, what did they do to you!?!"
VIRGINIA= "What do you think they did!?!"  The light bulbs in the bathroom started to flicker, which began to freak Dakota out.
DAKOTA= "It's okay, just calm down.  You don't want to start this at school.  Let me help you get this off." She grabbed a few paper towels, got them wet in the sink, and started trying to get flour out of my clothes. When she did this, the lights returned to normal.

While Dakota tried to clean my clothes, I caught a glimpse of my self in the mirror.  My short, brown hair was clumped up with drying flour, and my green eyes were reddish from both crying and flour getting in them. The longer I looked in the mirror, the more it began to shake.
DAKOTA= "Virginia, do..."  She was interrupted by the bathroom door opening. We both turn to look, and see it was Stephanie Black(one of the more popular girls in school) walking in.
STEPHANIE= "What's going on?"
VIRGINIA= "LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"  And, with that, the mirror I was looking into cracked, causing Stephanie to shriek. I felt Dakota's hand on my shoulder, and I turned to look at her.
DAKOTA= "Virginia, you should go home early.  You've had enough for today."
New story!!!  YYYYAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!  And, this one is inspired by one of my favorite movies of all time!  Hope you like it!

Ooh sounds good. Gave me a Carrie sort of vibe. I'm guessing that's the movie?
